Renowned Taiwanese restaurant chain Din Tai Fung recently announced that it would raise prices on selected menu items starting Monday due to rising operating costs.
The adjustments are necessary to maintain food and service quality amid higher ingredient and labor costs, the company said in a statement.
Under the new pricing, the restaurant’s signature pork xiaolongbao would cost NT$29 (US$0.91) per dumpling, up from NT$28. Shrimp fried rice with egg would increase from NT$300 to NT$320, while the house special spicy shrimp and pork wontons would rise from NT$230 to NT$240, the company said.
