SMUD crews are replacing a storm-downed pole at Franklin and 42nd, leaving over 500 customers without power.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Power outages across the Sacramento region are affecting over 500 SMUD customers after a car collided with a utility pole at Franklin Boulevard and 42nd Avenue.
Two related outages resulted from the accident, prompting SMUD to send two separate crews to expedite repairs.
Officials say the larger outage should be restored fairly quickly, while the smaller outage will likely continue until around 2 p.m. due to the more complex pole replacement.
SMUD crews are on-site, taking all safety precautions as they work to restore power.
Residents in the area may experience temporary service interruptions and slowed traffic. Officials remind the public to stay clear of crews and allow them to work safely.
