BARBERVILLE, Fla. — A history-making night at Volusia Speedway Park saw the crowning of three new division champions alongside a guaranteed starter for the $10,000-to-win Emil and Dale Reutimann Memorial.
The November evening at “The World’s Fastest Half Mile” saw Feature wins from Todd Neiheiser, Bubba Roling, Jesse Powers, Trynt Lloyd, and Patrick Thomas.
Alongside the feature-winning celebrations, Jason Garver completed a three-peat in the DIRTcar UMP Modifieds, 602 Late Models, and Factory Stocks points, Dalton Hopke clinched the 3/4 Modified championship, and Lloyd swept the night with the win and championship.
DIRTcar UMP Modifieds
Todd Neiheiser does not have to worry about making the Reutimann Memorial Feature in 2025.
Fresh off winning World Short Track Championship as a team owner for Ray Kable, the Panama City, FL driver got behind the wheel of the No. 72 Elite Chassis Saturday to earn his first Prelude to the Reutimann win after 20 laps.
Neiheiser ran in second place to Rich Pratt in the early stages, as title contender Seth Geary held third place while Garver struggled to make up ground at the bottom of the top-10.
As the Feature crossed the halfway mark, Neiheiser cut into Pratt’s lead by keeping his car on the cushion while Pratt struggled to keep his No. 78 Modified stuck to the bottom lane. On Lap 14, Neiheiser used the cushion in Turns 3-4 to power around Pratt for the top spot.
While Neiheiser controlled the final six laps, Garver – racing in 11th place – had to gain two positions to win the championship. He passed Jim Manka and Dillon Buhr with four laps to go, then a pass on Josh Sanford in the final lap sealed the track championship as Neiheiser earned a guaranteed position in the Volusia marquee event for the UMP Modifieds.
“That tire heated up, and it kicked in and it went,” Neiheiser said. “This car won at Charlotte two weeks ago with Ray Kable, and it’s been really good. I know (we’re in), but I gotta get up front. I want to start up front and stay there.”
602 Late Models
Bubba Roling has “The World’s Fastest Half Mile” deciphered aboard a 602 Late Model.
The Jacksonville, FL native controlled the November evening with a dominant 20 laps around the track for his fourth win of the points season.
While Roling jumped out to the lead from the drop of the green flag, Jason Garver, Austin Leamon, and Brandon Yates fought for the track championship as Garver held second place, Leamon in third, and Yates in fourth.
The No. 515 Capital Race Cars Late Model kept the Starke, FL native within a one-second margin as Leamon and Yates faltered behind throughout the 20-lap battle.
While Leamon was able to defend his podium position, Yates fell back to sixth on Lap 7, then passed Griffin Jones to stay inside the top five on Lap 11.
At the head of the field, Roling kept Garver away from making a charge at him when lapped traffic arrived in his crosshairs. His work at holding the No. 54 of Garver solidified his fifth overall win at the track in 2025. With Garver’s second-place finish, he clinched the 602 Late Models title by 14 points over both Yates and Leamon, respectively.
“It’s been good everywhere we went,” Roling said. “I want to say shoutout to Brian Green for loaning us a shock this weekend. If it wasn’t for him, we wouldn’t be here. I bent one at Charlotte, and he was able to let me use it. I love racing with Jason and them, he’s known me my whole life, so to stand up here and beat him, it’s something special.”
3/4 Modifieds
While Dalton Hopke dominated the 3/4 Modified division in 2025, Jesse Powers wanted a piece of the success in the season.
Starting from the Pole Position, Hopke rolled out to the lead as Powers and Ethyn Hwan kept the No. H1 Modified within their crosshairs. Powers reeled Hopke in by slashing a one-second lead to 0.194 seconds on Lap 2, then passed Hopke around the outside on Lap 3. Hwan got by Hopke on the following lap by attaching his No. 57 Modified to the bottom of Hopke.
Powers maintained a one-second lead over Hwan through the 15 laps as the lap traffic did not become an issue for the Port Orange, FL driver.
Though Hwan and Hopke attempted a last-ditch charge, the 2023 track champion outran the two drivers for his first win at the track since October of 2024. Hopke clinched his first division championship by 11 points over Hwan.
“Oh man, that was fun,” Powers said. “I’ve been having issues all year. We haven’t been able to finish any races this year. But, when it counted, it counted, this thing came to life. Tonight was incredible. I’m glad to have a good run with Hopke. That was a fun last few laps, exciting, right on the edge. That was good.”
604 Late Models
Trynt Lloyd stays at the top of the 604 Late Models.
The Jacksonville, FL driver proved why he earned the 2025 title with a flawless Feature piloting the No. 2 Longhorn Chassis at the front to score the Prelude to the Reutimann and his first career track championship.
Beginning the Feature from the second row, Lloyd got the jump over Garret Stewart and Clay Harris on the opening lap by riding around the bottom lane while the two drivers drifted up the track, which scrubbed their momentum.
Lloyd kept his line around the bottom lane to grow the gap as Stewart, Harris, and Bubba Roling fought for a spot inside the podium. The three drivers racing against each other helped Lloyd build a lead of over three seconds by the halfway flag.
Lloyd kept the steam rolling through the second half as he sliced through lap traffic on the bottom lane, helping him gain an 8.15-second lead to earn his fifth win of the season and the 604 Late Model track title by 86 points over Stewart.
“I figured I had the points kind of wrapped up,” Lloyd said. “I kind of tried something new that I’d been wanting to try, and I don’t think I’ve ever felt as good here. I could go wherever I wanted to. The track was great tonight.”
Factory Stocks
Despite missing out on a second consecutive track title, Patrick Thomas got to finish the 2025 season back at the top of the scoring pylon.
The Oviedo, FL driver got to duel against eventual division champion Jason Garver through the 20 laps of Factory Stocks racing for his first win at the track since August of 2024.
Rolling from the outside of the front row, Thomas used his starting position to his advantage by taking the lead by riding the cushion as Garver followed in his shadow to take second place after the opening lap.
On Lap 3, Garver took over the lead from Thomas by riding around the middle lane of the 0.5-mile track. Thomas was not done fighting Garver, as the two drivers stayed within one car length of each other. When Thomas found momentum on Lap 9, he outmatched Garver in the corners to retake the lead.
As Thomas kept Garver at bay in the final 11 circuits around the track, he claimed victory as Garver took home his third track championship of the evening.
“So, we’ve had this car for about a year,” Thomas said. “We have struggled, tried things, and struggled. We changed a bunch of stuff this week, put a motor in on Wednesday, and by far, this is the best it’s been this year. So, it’s been a long time, over a year since we won, but I just got to thank everybody.”
