Key traffic alerts and construction updates.
Drivers may experience a mix of delays, detours and maintenance work this week as transportation crews continue routine construction and improvement projects across the area. Motorists are encouraged to stay aware of changing traffic conditions, allow extra travel time and follow posted signs in work zones.
Here is a list of some traffic alerts and construction updates throughout the region.
Montgomery County
• Stanley Avenue ramp closure: The entrance and exit ramps at Stanley Avenue on I-75 North will be closed starting Friday, July 10 for approximately 60 days.  This closure is necessary to reconstruct the ramps.
The ramps at Wagner Ford Road and I-75 North will reopen before Stanley Avenue ramps close.Â
Detour:
• I-75 traffic shift: Motorists can expect three lanes on I-75 in each direction between Needmore Road and Leo Street. Northbound traffic will shift the center and right lanes to the left side of I-75 North, and the leftmost northbound lane will cross over into a contraflow lane on the southbound side, just north of Ohio 4 and Ohio 48/Main Street.
Motorists in the contraflow lane will not have access to the following exits through fall 2026: Stanley Avenue, Wagner-Ford Road and Needmore Road. Crews will be completing work along the outside wall and the reconstruction of the northbound travel lanes.
Southbound traffic will remain in its current configuration with three travel lanes. The contraflow setup will continue to accommodate northbound traffic on the southbound side.
This new traffic flow will be maintained through 2026.
• Wagner-Ford Road ramp closure: The ramp from Wagner-Ford Road to I-75 South will be closed from Sunday, August 25 through Fall 2026. This closure is necessary to reconstruct I-75 in this area.
Detour: Wagner Ford Road to Keowee/N. Dixie Drive to Needmore Road to I-75 South.
• I-75 lane shift: Motorists can expect three lanes on I-75 in each direction between Needmore Road and Ohio 4. Northbound traffic in the left lane will cross over into a contraflow lane on the southbound side just north of Ohio 4 and Ohio 48/Main Street starting Friday, Aug. 8 through 2026. Vehicles in the contraflow lane will not have access to the following exits: Stanley Avenue, Wagner-Ford Road, and Needmore Road. Crews will be completing work on the interior median and reconstruction of the southbound travel lanes. This new traffic pattern will maintain three lanes of traffic in each direction.Â
• I-75 lane restrictions: I-75 in both directions will be subject to overnight lane restrictions between Lyons Road and Pennyroyal Road from 7:30 p.m. through 5 a.m. starting Monday, July 6 through September 2026.
• I-75 lane restrictions: I-75 in both directions will be subject to overnight lane restrictions between Lyons Road and Pennyroyal Road from 7:30 p.m. through 5 a.m. starting Monday, July 6 through August 2026.
• I-75 lane shift: Expect three lanes on I-75 North between Lyons Road and Pennyroyal Road. Northbound traffic will shift to the exterior (right) side of the roadway. The left lane on I-75 South is reduced to 11 feet. This traffic pattern will be in place through Spring 2027.
• I-75 lane closures: Expect overnight intermittent lane closures on I-75 in each direction between Needmore Road and Leo Street from April 2024 through December 2025. Lane closures will be from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on Thursday nights as needed. Crews will be completing roadway and barrier repairs as part of the ongoing reconstruction project.
• I-75 lane shift: The right two lanes on the Northbound side of I-75 between Leo Street and Needmore Road will shift to the exterior/right side overnight on Thursday, September 10. Overnight, traffic will be maintained via the contraflow and the ramps from Ohio 4 and Ohio 48/Main Street will be temporarily closed. The entrance and exit ramps at Wagner Ford Road, Stanley Avenue, and Needmore Road will not be accessible during this time to allow crews to complete the shift. Traffic will reopen early morning on Friday, Sept. 11 as well as the Stanley Avenue entrance and exit ramps to I-75 will reopen.
• I-75 lane shift: Northbound I-75 between Needmore Road and Leo Street will be subject to intermittent lane closures overnight while contractors work to reopen the left lane on Sunday, Sept. 13. Early Monday, Sept. 14, Northbound I-75 will be back to three travel lanes, but will remain shifted to the exterior/outside. Southbound I-75 will remain in its current pattern. This pattern is expected to remain through early November 2026.
• I-75 lane restrictions: I-75 at Ohio 741 will be subject to lane restrictions between from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. starting Thursday, Sept. 3 through mid-September 2026. Crews will be repairing the roadway/bridge.
• Ohio 4 closure: Ohio 4 South will be closed from Stanley Avenue to I-75 from Monday, Aug. 24 through Thursday, Aug. 27. Motorists will not have access to the ramps at Keowee and Webster. Crews will be sealing the bridge decks.
Detour:
• U.S. 35 lane restriction: The bridge on U.S. 35 over McCall Street will be subject to lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Tuesday, September 1 through fall 2026. Crews will be repairing the bridge.
• U.S. 35 lane restriction: U.S. 35 at Home Avenue will be subject to lane restrictions between from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Monday, Sept. 21 through September 2026. Crews will be repairing the roadway/bridge.
• Woodman Drive lane/shoulder closures: Expect lane restrictions on Woodman Drive between U.S. 35 and Sunberry Drive starting the week of June 1, 2025 through August 2026. Crews will be completing final pavement work and striping.Â
• Ohio 741 Lane Restriction: Ohio 741 at the I-675 S ramp to I-75 N ramp will be subject to lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Friday, Sept. 25 through fall 2026. Crews will be repairing the bridge.
• South Great Miami River Walk closure: The South GMR walk between I-75 and Ohio 48 will be closed for approximately 100 days starting Wednesday, June 24. Crews will be installing lighting, pedestrian accommodations, and path upgrades. The paved levee walk will remain open during this work. River Walk users will follow the signed detour. Â
Warren County
• U.S. 42/Glosser Road roundabout: The city of Lebanon plans to construct a roundabout at the intersection of U.S. 42 and Glosser Road at the city’s southern corporation limit.
U.S. 42 is closed through July 27, and Glosser Road is closed through September 30.
Detour: Thru-traffic motorists will be detoured via Ohio 63 (Main Street), Ohio 741 and U.S. 42, and a local detour is also being maintained by way of Ohio 63 and McClure Road.
Estimated Completion: September 2026
• U.S. 42 signal installation and road realignment: Lane restrictions are in effect from about 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on U.S. 42 at the intersection with Corwin Avenue/North Street in Waynesville. Right turn only signs and barrels were installed on Corwin Avenue and North Street to prevent left turns onto U.S. 42 during construction, which is expected to end in September.
• Ohio 48 signalization: The Warren County Transportation Improvement District will install a new traffic signal at the Ohio 48 intersection and Interstate 71 southbound ramps in South Lebanon. Construction also includes extending the northbound Ohio 48 left-turn lane to I-71 South and widening Ohio 48 North through the intersection. Traffic changes have been implemented in both directions at the Ohio 48 North and South exit/entrance ramps to I-71 North and South, with traffic being maintained in shifted lanes. Additional restrictions may be in effect throughout the project.
All work is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2026.
• Ohio 73 turn-lane addition and resurfacing: Between Red Lion-Five Points Road and Harveysburg Road, as well as the installation of a left-turn lane on Ohio 73 at Old Ohio 73 near Waynesville. Work was scheduled to begin Monday, May 4, with guardrail replacement and turn lane construction. Traffic will be maintained in one lane in either direction with the use of flaggers and/or other traffic control devices.
Estimated Completion: November 2026
• Ohio 123 pavement reconstruction: Between Cedar Trace Drive and Stubbs Mill Road and at the I-71 interchange. Traffic on S.R. 123 is being maintained through both work zones, in either a minimum of one lane in each direction or with the use flaggers. The on/off ramps to and from I-71 may be subject to overnight closures, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day, on varying days.
Estimated Completion: October 2026
• Ohio 123 paving/chip-seal: Between Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road and Ohio 350. Preliminary work is under way. Traffic will be maintained in one, 12-foot lane during daytime, working hours, daily from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. with the use of flaggers and/or traffic control devices.Â
Estimated Completion: November 2026.
Champaign County
• Ohio 245 closure: Ohio 245 between Hite Road and TR 195 will be closed starting Monday, August 24 through Friday, August 28. Crews will be replacing several culverts.
Detour: Ohio 245 W to U.S. 68 S to Ohio 296 W to Ohio 29 W.
• Ohio 55 lane restriction: Ohio 55 between Old Troy Pike and U.S. 68 will intermittently be reduced to a single lane from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. starting Friday, June 19 through August 2026. Traffic will be maintained by a flagging operation. Crews will be repaving the roadway.
• Ohio 29 lane restriction: Ohio 29 between Ohio 235 and Ohio 560 will intermittently be reduced to a single lane from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. starting Monday, May 4 through September 2026. Traffic will be maintained by a flagging operation. Crews will be repaving the roadway. Â
• Ohio 245 lane restriction: Ohio 245 between Brush Lake Road and Gilbert Road will intermittently be reduced to a single lane from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. starting Monday, May 4 through September 2026. Traffic will be maintained by a flagging operation. Crews will be repaving the roadway.
• U.S. 68 lane restriction: U.S. 68 between Ohio 55/Lewis B. Moore Drive and Springfield Pike will be subject to lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Tuesday, August 18 through fall 2026. Traffic will be maintained by a flagging operation when necessary. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway.
• Ohio 245/559 and Sycamore Street Closure: Village of North Lewisburg will close Ohio 245/559 and Sycamore Street for a festival on Monday, September 7. Motorists should follow local detour as posted.
• U.S. 36 Closure: Village of St. Paris will close U.S. 36 between Church Street and Springfield Street for a festival on Saturday, September 12. Motorists should follow local detour as posted.
• Ohio 245/559 and Sycamore Street Closure: Village of North Lewisburg will close Ohio 245/559 and Sycamore Street for a festival on Wednesday, September 16. Motorists should follow local detour as posted.
Clark County
• Ohio 56 lane restrictions: Expect lane restrictions in both directions on Ohio 56 between the Champaign County line and Madison County Line from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Monday, August 10 through Fall 2026. Traffic will be maintained with a flagging operation. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway.
• U.S. 40 lane restriction: U.S. 40 between Whaley Road and Ohio 4 will be subject to lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Monday, July 6 through August 2026. Traffic will be maintained with a flagging operation. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway.
• U.S. 68 lane restriction: The bridge on U.S. 68 over Dayton Road will be subject to lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Monday, July 6 through fall 2026. Crews will be repairing the bridge.
• U.S. 68 ramp closure: The U.S. 40 West ramp onto U.S. 68 North will be closed starting Wednesday, July 22 for approximately 30 days. Crews will be painting the bridge overhead.
Detour: U.S. 40 W to Tecumseh Road S to Ohio 4 N to U.S. 68
• U.S. 68 lane restriction: The bridge on U.S. 68 over U.S. 40 will be subject to lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting Monday, July 20 through fall 2026. Crews will be repairing the bridge.
Darke County
• Ohio 705 closure: Ohio 705 will be closed between Friend Road and Whiterd Road starting Monday, Aug. 31 through Friday, Sept. 4. Crews will be replacing a culvert and resurfacing the roadway.
Detour: U.S. 127 to Ohio 119 to Ohio 716
• Ohio 721 Closure: Ohio 721 between U.S. 36 and Walnut Road/New Harrison Bradford Road will be closed starting Monday, August 24 through Tuesday, September 1. Crews will be replacing several culverts
Detour: U.S. 36 to Ohio 48 to Ohio 185.
• U.S. 36 lane restrictions: Expect lane restrictions in both directions on U.S. 36 between Clark Station Road and Hillgrove Southern Road from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Wednesday, June 17 through August 2026. Traffic will be maintained with a flagging operation. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway.
• Ohio 118 lane restrictions: Expect lane restrictions in both directions on Ohio 118 between Mercy County line and Brock Cosmos Road from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Wednesday, June 17 through August 2026. Traffic will be maintained with a flagging operation. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway.
• Ohio 319 lane restrictions: Expect lane restrictions in both directions on Ohio 319 between Washington Street (Burkettesville) and Ohio 118 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Wednesday, June 17 through August 2026. Traffic will be maintained with a flagging operation. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway.
• Ohio 47 lane restrictions: Expect lane restrictions in both directions on Ohio 47 between the western limit of the Village of Ansonia and U.S. 127 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Wednesday, June 17 through August 2026. Traffic will be maintained with a flagging operation. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway.
• Ohio 705 lane restrictions: Expect lane restrictions in both directions on Ohio 705 between U.S. 127 and Reed Road from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Wednesday, June 17 through August 2026. Traffic will be maintained with a flagging operation. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway.
• Ohio 716 lane restrictions: Expect lane restrictions in both directions on Ohio 716 between Ohio 705 (Main St) and northern limit of the Village of Osgood from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. starting Wednesday, June 17 through August 2026. Traffic will be maintained with a flagging operation. Crews will be resurfacing the roadway.

Miami County
• Miami County Rest Areas: The Southbound Rest Area in Miami County will be closed from Tuesday, Aug. 18 through Tuesday, Aug. 25. Crews will be working on lighting installations.
• Ohio 718 Closure: Ohio 718 will be closed between Kiser Lane and Wilson Road for 28 days starting Monday, August 10. Crews will be replacing a culvert and resurfacing the roadway.
Detour: Ohio 48 to Ohio 55 to Ohio 718.
• U.S. 36 closure: The Village of Covington will close U.S. 36 between Rangeline Road and High Street for 60 days starting Monday, May 4. Motorists should follow local detour.
• I-75 Lane Shift: I-75 between CR 25A (69MM) and Ohio 41 will shift all lanes to the left (inside) lanes in each direction starting Friday, July 24 through fall 2026. Crews will be rebuilding the ramp at Ohio 41.
• Ohio 721 closure: Ohio 721 between Ludlow Street and the Montgomery County line will intermittently be reduced to a single lane from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. starting Monday, May 4 through September 2026. Traffic will be maintained by a flagging operation. Crews will be repaving the roadway. Â

• Ohio 571 lane restrictions: Ohio 571 between Ohio 48 and Rachel Ann Boulevard will be subject to intermittent lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. starting Monday, April 17 through fall 2026. Crews will be building an addition to the bike path.
• Ohio 41/55 closure: The city of Troy will close the intersection of Ohio 41 and Ohio 55 for a festival starting Friday, Aug. 21 through Saturday, Aug. 22. Motorists should follow local detours as posted.
• Ohio 41/55 closure: The city of Troy will close the intersection of Ohio 41 and Ohio 55 for a festival from 3 to 10 p.m., starting Friday, Nov. 27. Motorists should follow local detours as posted.

• I-75 lane restriction: I-75 will be subject to overnight lane restrictions between MM 69 and Eldean Road from 7 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. from Monday, Aug. 24 through Friday, Aug. 28. Crews will be repairing pavement.
Preble County
• M.R. 112 (Maple Street) reconstruction: Between High Street and Mechanic Street in the city of Eaton. N. Maple Street is closed through the fall, and motorists are being detoured by way of Spring Street, Barron Street and Decatur Street. Estimated Completion: November 2026.Â
Butler County
• I-75 Pavement Repairs: Between the Hamilton County line and Tylersville Road. Single and double-lane closures will be in effect nightly, from 6:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.
Estimated Completion: August 2026.
• Ohio 73 resurfacing: Between U.S. 127 at Seven Mile and the western corporation limit of Trenton. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 11-foot lane with the use of flaggers during daytime hours of operation, daily from approximately 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Estimated Completion: September 2026
• Ohio 122 bridge rehabilitation and resurfacing: Resurfacing between the Preble County line and the Great Miami River at the city of Middletown. Construction also includes repairs to bridges within the work zone. Beginning Monday, June 22, Ohio 122 will be reduced to one lane between Elk Creek and Hursh roads for bridge repairs, and traffic will be maintained with temporary signals. Traffic will be maintained through the remainder of the work zone with the use of flaggers.
Estimated Completion: November 2026
• Ohio 747 resurfacing: Resurfacing between Brate Drive and Crescentville Road. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one, 12-foot lane in either direction with the use of flaggers and/or other traffic control devices during hours of operation, typically during daytime hours.
Estimated Completion: September 2026
• Ohio 503 resurfacing: This is between U.S. 127 at Seven Mile and the Preble County line. Traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one, 11-foot lane with the use of flaggers and/or other traffic control devices during hours of operation, daily from approximately 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

2026 Dayton road projects
Salem Avenue Reconstruction, Phase 4: The next phase of the reconstruction project begins in spring 2026, covering the area from Cornell Drive to Elsmere Avenue. It includes a completely rebuilt roadway, new sidewalks, upgraded street lighting and concrete‑stamped crosswalks at the Salem/Wabash Avenue and Salem/Elsmere Avenue intersections.
This phase is expected to be complete by the end of 2027.
Keowee Street safety improvements: The roadway will be reduced from seven lanes to five between East Fifth Street and East Monument Avenue. An 11‑foot‑wide multi‑use path will be added on both sides of the street.
Findlay Street reconstruction: Findlay Street will be improved with new pavement, curbs, sidewalks and street lighting from East First Street to East Monument Avenue. The auxiliary northbound lane will be removed, and bike lanes will be added on both sides.
East Third Street: The roadway between Webster Street and Linden Avenue will be reduced from five lanes to three, except at Keowee Street, where it will stay five lanes. A two‑way cycle track will be added on the south side of East Third Street. The project also includes new curb extensions, median crossings at select locations and ornamental lighting between Webster Street and Keowee Street.
Philadelphia Drive traffic calming: Bike lanes and curb extensions will be added along Philadelphia Drive from West Riverview Avenue to Salem Avenue to help slow traffic. The project will also include two new speed tables.
