I’m a lover of anything with a retro flair and the holiday season, so I leap at the opportunity to adorn my home with timeless Christmas decor long before the season even starts—and vintage ones are my favorite. As my grandmother was the ultimate decorator, I’ve inherited some of her most treasured pieces over the years, but I nonetheless find myself on the hunt for other vintage pieces that capture the classic essence of mid-century design. With this in mind, I went to my favorite retailers to find some new decor, and I wasn’t disappointed.
I scooped up a darling starburst tree topper, pillow covers, and wooden wreath from Amazon and Walmart. Plus, in a desperate need to give the exterior of my home some sprucing up, I found multicolored light bulbs from Tru-Tone, a company that specializes in replicating the classic glow of vintage incandescent lights but with LED bulbs. Scoop up my favorite festive finds below, with prices starting at $15.

Best Choice Products Ceramic Christmas Tree
Amazon
Ceramic Christmas trees were popular throughout the ‘50, ‘60s, and ‘70s, and today there are a variety of options that mirror the same timeless look. This 15-inch ceramic tree from Best Choice Products is hand-painted with light and dark green accents and features 64 light bulbs that glow in beautiful colors. Plus, it comes with both a clear and gold seven-pointed star topper, so you can customize it to your liking. “Upon opening the box I was transported back in time in my memories of my childhood,” one five-star shopper wrote, adding, “My mom had a beautifully lit tree just like this one and I am happy that I could purchase one just like it to bring the nostalgic Christmas that I remembered.”
Kurt S. Adler Gold Starburst Tree Topper
Amazon
Starbursts are an iconic symbol of mid-century design, and when I saw this stunning tree topper, I knew I had to get it for my Christmas tree. The topper is made from plastic and metal materials and is designed with a glittery gold finish that makes it sparkle from across the room. It measures 14.8-inches tall and also features both clear and silver gemstones for a pop of retro flair. “We recently bought a mid-century house, and I wanted something sort of 1950s looking… (the whole “Sputnik” thing I remember as a kid). Took a chance on this, and I love it,” one five-star customer shared.
Christmas Bubble String Lights
Amazon
From the ‘40s to the ‘70s, bubble string lights were common to use as lighting on Christmas trees before mini and icicle lights became more popular. With the resurgence of retro holiday decor taking off, these once-treasured lights are making a comeback again. This set includes nine multi-colored lights that illuminate and bubble up when they’re plugged in for a warm, whimsical glow. One final five-star reviewer wrote, “These are everything I hoped they would be. My grandmother always had these on her tree when I was a child in the ‘80s and they just feel like Christmas to me.”
There are a ton of vintage-style Christmas decor and lights to shop before the season officially begins. For more of my favorite festive finds, keep reading.
