LOS ANGELES (AP) – California will see another day of unseasonable warmth before a low-pressure system brings a chance of rain at midweek.

The National Weather Service says Southern California temperatures Tuesday will range up to the 90s, and while highs elsewhere won’t be quite as hot they’ll still be above normal.

Downtown Los Angeles was a record 89 degrees on Monday, among numerous records broken or tied statewide. The Presidents Day holiday saw big crowds flock to beaches.

A big change is expected overnight as high pressure causing the heat moves east and onshore flow returns, bringing cooler temperatures and a chance of rain.

Temperatures are expected to be about 15 degrees above average in the valley on Tuesday. The Bay Area is expected to be the warmest part of our region, with highs reaching 80 degrees in San Francisco and 81 degrees in San Jose.
