The June full moon, traditionally known as the Strawberry Moon, rises behind the ancient temple of Poseidon at Cape Sounion, about 70 kilometers (45 miles) south of Athens, on Monday night. Despite its name, the Strawberry Moon does not turn pink or red. The term originates from Native American traditions, where full moons marked seasonal changes and agricultural activities.
