Sarah Ferguson Might Be Calling It Quits on the UK — And Upgrading to the ‘Hamptons of Europe’ Instead

It sounds like Sarah Ferguson has a post-royal plan in place.

While Prince Andrew is reportedly headed to Sandringham, the former Duchess of York’s next steps were unclear until now. Ferguson might be able to keep up appearances by moving to the “Hamptons of Europe,” according to the Express. The outlet is reporting that she’s heading to Portugal to live with her daughter, Princess Eugenie, at the elite CostaTerra Golf and Ocean Club.

“The word here is that Fergie will be arriving sometime in January,” a friend of Eugenie claimed to the outlet. “How long she’ll stay is anyone’s guess, but if it’s a long-term move, I can guarantee she’ll fit well into the social scene. Scores of celebrities and Hollywood stars have been snapping up properties in the area.”

Eugenie’s husband, Jack Brooksbank, works for the Discovery Land Company, where he manages the sales and marketing for the resort. The luxurious property has lured A-list celebrities, including Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Nicole Kidman, and Scarlett Johansson to the area. This move could align with Ferguson’s reported decision to take the “expensive” route to rebrand her image.

“Sarah has always been a grafter and a hard worker and always finds ways of making money and getting out of a hole,” a source told The Sun in early November. “She has expensive tastes and massive outgoings, but always found a way to make ends meet. Calls from brands may go unanswered right now, but she is still Sarah Ferguson and still a big name.”

Ferguson is on her own after King Charles III pulled what The Australian described as the “nuclear option” on the Yorks. He yanked the former couple’s royal titles and exiled them from their beloved Royal Lodge — both are now commoners in the U.K.

More on Prince Andrew’s downfall:

Despite Ferguson’s insistence that they are the “happiest divorced couple in the world,” she and Andrew are going their separate ways after their ongoing association with Jeffrey Epstein caught up with them.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told the Daily Mail that it’s game over for them for good.

“It [was] lucrative for both of them to be together. The point is that this has been an arrangement of convenience to enable them to live at a certain level,” he said. “They’ve kept that facade up very well. My feeling is that it was because they are extremely greedy. I think the problem was they desired a certain lifestyle – and this was the main way to get it.”

Perhaps a new life in Portugal will give Ferguson perspective on her poor choices, but the extravagant surroundings certainly won’t be a punishment.
