Sacramento Police seized guns, cash and a large amount of drugs during a weeklong operation that resulted in 28 felony arrests across the region, the department said.
Working alongside the Drug Enforcement Administration and California Highway Patrol, Sacramento officers recovered 230 grams of methamphetamine, 2,100 grams of cocaine, 52 grams of heroin, nine grams of fentanyl and 47,000 fentanyl pills, according to Sacramento Police Officer Allison Smith.
Officers also confiscated eight handguns and $1,900 in cash.
Smith said the arrests were not limited to the city but emphasized that Sacramento Police played a central role in the joint effort.
“We are grateful for the strong partnerships that make operations like this possible,” Smith said. “Working closely with DEA and CHP allows us to identify criminal activity more effectively and remove dangerous drugs and weapons from our neighborhoods. Our officers will continue these efforts as investigations move forward.”
Smith said the investigations tied to the seizures remain active.
