Sac State’s New Freshman Living Requirement
Sacramento State is instituting a two-year on-campus living requirement for first-time students starting in Fall 2026. President Luke Wood announced the requirement over the summer as a way to provide for students’ basic needs and academic success. But the plan has also drawn criticism about the potential financial impacts on students, and the university’s capacity to house them. Nadine Kelley, Executive Director for Housing Services joins Insight to talk about how this policy will roll out, and what it means for financially-strapped students.

Holiday Music & Wine
As we barrel toward the holidays, it cues a time for lots of get-togethers. And typically that means parties and potlucks galore. We’re ending today’s show with an Insight tradition. Every year around Thanksgiving, CapRadio Classical Music Host Jennifer Reason tees us up with interesting compositions that harken to the season. And resident wine expert Rick Kushman listens on the fly and pairs it with the perfect varietal of wine.
