Reese Witherspoon pays special tribute to Diane Keaton

Hollywood is still reeling over news of the passing of one of its brightest – the cool, the kooky Diane Keaton.

Tributes have continued from a cavalcade of A-listers and last night in LA, at a Hello Sunshine event, Reese Witherspoon got quite emotional remembering the late 79-year-old, who directed Wildflower, one of Reese’s very first movies.

“I’m going to try and get through this without tearing up,” Reese told the audience.

“I was 15-years-old and I was from Nashville, Tennessee and I didn’t know anybody.

“It was my second, third movie audition ever and I came in with this big country accent, I was playing this little southern girl, and she goes, ‘who are you?’ and I said, ‘I’m Reese Witherspoon, I’m from Nashville, Tennessee’, and she said, ‘are you making that up, that accent you’re doing?’

“I said, ‘no, ma’am, I’m from Nashville, I’m here and I’d love to be in your movie’ and she was like, ‘well, you’re hired, you’re hired today, tomorrow and the next day – I don’t know who you are, but I am so excited to have you.'”

And the wonderful Robbie Williams was on the Graham Norton Show all star line up, including Julia Roberts, Colin Farrell, and Benedict Cumberbatch – performing his new single Pretty Face.
