A pedestrian killed near Sheldon Road and Butterscotch Way after being struck by vehicle in South Sacramento brought a response from the Sacramento Police Department to the fatal crash just before 6:30 p.m. on November 3 at the intersection of Sheldon Road and Butterscotch Way.
Officers arrived to find a male pedestrian suffering from life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle. Despite life-saving efforts from Sacramento Fire Department personnel, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that the driver of the vehicle remained on-site and cooperated fully with investigators. Police determined that impairment did not appear to be a factor in the collision. The Major Collision Investigations Unit responded, and the intersection was closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim once family members have been notified.
