A Naples man accused of going 150 mph on Interstate 75 was arrested by Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputies.Deputies say they spotted Christian Terrero, 21, going dangerously fast down the southbound lane of I-75 near mile marker 105. Terrero was arrested Thursday night after a high-speed chase on I-75 and then onto Collier Boulevard, putting other motorists in danger.Aerial video from Collier County sheriff’s deputies captured the driver racing away from a traffic stop after a deputy saw three cars racing on the interstate near the Golden Gate Parkway exit.Deputies said the driver ran a red light at the Collier Boulevard exit and turned off his headlights to avoid being seen. Several drivers nearby were concerned about the incident.”That is crazy. That is an insane speed to be going here,” one witness said.The CCSO video showed the driver cutting through the parking lot at Physicians Regional Medical Center on Collier Boulevard and looping back onto the road. Deputies followed the black 2015 BMW as it raced north, crossing Rattlesnake Hammock Road toward Forest Glen Boulevard. Terrero pulled over near Forest Glen Boulevard, where he was taken into custody.Terrero is charged with second-degree fleeing and eluding and violating Florida’s street-racing law.Drivers in the area were shocked by the speeds reached during the chase.”That’s like the max speed limit in my car,” said Alejandra from East Naples, Florida.Another witness added, “I don’t even feel safe driving 45 here. And it’s a construction zone, so 150 is very fast.”Terrero remains in jail Friday night after deputies said he put other motorists in danger.
