Magnitude-4.8 Earthquake Hits Near Big Pine

BIG PINE, CA (CBS13) — A series of earthquakes have hit near Big Pine on Tuesday.
The United States Geological Survey reports the quake struck at 3:04 p.m. near Big Pine in Inyo County in the Sierra Nevada. It’s located about 90 miles east of Fresno and about 15 miles south of Bishop.
Four earthquakes have hit the area on Tuesday with the largest a magnitude-4.8 at 3:04 p.m.
We felt the quake in Merced. First a little shake, then the bigger one. Sounded like someone jumping on the roof.

A magnitude-4.3 aftershock hit at 3:23 p.m.
