ST. CLOUD/FREEPORT (WJON News) — You can learn about the basics of architecture and structural design using gingerbread and frosting. The Stearns History Museum is hosting two events called “Gingerbread Architecture: The Sweet Element of Design”.
The first will be this Saturday at Granite Innovations in downtown St. Cloud. The class will be taught by Whitney Lougheed, a Project Architect with JLG Architects. Following the class, there will be an optional tour of Granite Innovations.
The second will be on December 6th at Harvest Church in Freeport. That class will be taught by Miranda Stueckrath, a preservation expert and public program librarian at Stearns History Museum. After the class, there will be an optional talk from representatives of the Melrose Area Arts Council.

The gingerbread kits are from Cold Spring Bakery. The classes run from 11:00 a.m. to noon. General Admission is $15. Class size is limited and pre-registration is required.
