Just four months after being appointed the head of the club’s recruitment, Grégory Thil is expected to leave RC Strasbourg Alsace, according to a report from L’Équipe.
It was only in mid-June that Thil, formerly of RC Lens, was announced as the club’s new head of recruitment. He was notably the man responsible for the arrivals of the likes of Adukodir Khusanov and Lois Openda at the Stade Bollaert.

Thil took the reins in mid-July and began scouting in September. The role ultimately was a rather basic scouting role and not as wide-ranging as the role that he had previously held at Lens. It has therefore been decided that, by mutual consent, his time at Strasbourg will come to an end.
Club sources, speaking to L’Équipe, state that Thil will not be replaced. It was only a fortnight ago that David Weir joined the club as the new sporting director, whilst Sam Jewell is the recruitment director of the BlueCo project.
