Great Movie Ride Figures Return to Disney’s Hollywood Studios as Christmas Decorations

The Great Movie Ride lives on at Disney’s Hollywood Studios with “new” Christmas decorations this year.

Great Movie Ride Christmas Decorations

The Tailors to the Stars facade, part of the Keystone Clothiers exterior on Hollywood Boulevard, has a peppermint-striped display in its window. In the center is a set of three familiar-looking life-size figures.

It’s three dancers from the Busby Berkeley classic Footlight Parade! Dozens of these figures used to appear in the opening scene of the Great Movie Ride, which closed permanently in 2017.

The dancers have been redressed in holiday outfits including red velour hats with peppermint swirls and silvery tutus. But if you look closely, you’ll see their swimming caps under the hats.

The sheer tops of their leotards are recognizable as the swimsuits they wore in the Great Movie Ride, clearly just covered by the holiday costume. Their shoes also appear to be the same silver heels they wore on the ride. Their makeup may have also been refreshed.

Are you excited to see these icons back at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, even if they are in a window instead of a ride? Let us know in the comments and on social media.
