Celebrating the open world RPG’s 10th birthday, Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition is out now on PS5.
This is what Bethesda is calling the “definitive” edition of the game. It includes all of the DLC and expansions, plus “over 150” Creation Club items.
If you’re familiar with Skyrim Anniversary Edition, you’ll know what to expect. Well, kind of. Fallout 4’s official Creations — basically smaller DLCs — are more limited in scope, mostly involving cosmetics across weapons, armour, and your most trustworthy companion, Dogmeat.
There are two ways to buy the Anniversary Edition from the PS Store. You can either buy the entire package at $59.99 / £52.99, or you can purchase the upgrade for $39.99 / £35.99 if you already own Fallout 4.
The upgrade includes all of the DLC, plus the Creation Club stuff.
But, if you already own the DLC and expansions, and only want the Creation Club stuff, that comes as its own ‘Creations Bundle’, which costs a relatively hefty $19.99 / £17.99.
If that seems like a steep asking price, that’s because it is. For comparison, the upgrade for Skyrim Anniversary Edition costs $19.99 / £14.99 — and again, you could argue that Skyrim’s Creation Club content is much more meaningful to the overall experience, with things like new quests included.
What do you make of Fallout 4 Anniversary Edition? Are you tempted to return to post-apocalyptic Boston, or is the pricing all wrong? Watch out for mutants in the comments section below.
