Disney Has Increased Some Ticket Prices 97% Over Past 10 Years. Price Increases Historical Study

Disney ticket prices have climbed significantly over the years since Walt’s original park first opened in 1955. Some may remember the days when admission only cost $1, with each individual attraction charging for access. Today, as the parks have expanded and Disney continues to increase pay for its employees, Disney’s pricing structure is completely different. Now, more changes have just gone into effect with the 2026 Disney price increases.

In light of these increases, we’ve put together the following study looking back at historical price increases over the past decade. Our study includes ticket price increases, annual pass increases, Disneyland line-skipping service increases, and more. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including Disney scooter rules guests claim are not being followed and a favorite from Downtown Disney opening a new location at Disney World.

1 Park Per Day Disneyland Ticket Price Increases

Disneyland Price Increases 1 Park Per Day 2016-2026Disneyland Price Increases 1 Park Per Day 2016-2026

In the chart above, you can see how Disneyland 1 Park Per Day tickets have increased in price over the last ten years from 2016 to 2026. Today, prices range from $104 to $224. The total range remains unchanged from 2025, though there are some 2026 price increases now in effect for the middle tiers between the bottom and top tiers reflected in the chart above.

Since 2016, Disneyland has made some changes to the pricing system they use for 1-day tickets. Disneyland first introduced tiered pricing in 2016, with tickets divided into 3 categories: Value, Regular, or Peak.

Since that time, additional tiers have been added. Disneyland introduced a 5-tier system in 2020, and then in 2021, Disney added a Tier 6. Tier 0 was introduced in 2022, and since then, the Tier 0-Tier 6 system has remained the same, though pricing has increased for certain tiers since that model was put in place.

Disney has made a conscious effort to hold the lower end of the 1 Park Per Day tiered pricing in place over the last several years. This has remained the same since 2019. From 2016 to 2026, this lowest-priced option has increased in cost by $9 (a 9.47% increase).

As confirmed by Disneyland Public Relations, there are 42 days of tier 0 tickets from October 8, 2025, to May 31, 2026 (210-day period), and 38 days of tier 0 tickets from October 6, 2026, to May 31, 2027 (210-day period).

Disney World has shifted its pricing structure over the years. In 2015, the pricing structure for 1 Park Per Day tickets was divided into Magic Kingdom pricing ($105) and non-Magic Kingdom pricing ($97). In 2016, Disney World shifted to a seasonal pricing system (dividing tickets into three categories: Value, Regular, or Peak) before switching to date-based pricing in 2018. When this change took effect, the lowest-priced ticket type increased to $109 in October 2018, but for the purposes of our data, the $102 pricing from the February 2018 increase is shown. In 2022, Disney World made the shift to park-specific pricing, ranging from the lowest-priced Animal Kingdom tickets to the highest-priced Magic Kingdom tickets.

From 2017 to 2027, the lowest-priced 1 Park Per Day tickets increased in price by 20.20%, and the highest-priced 1 Park Per Day tickets increased in cost by 84.68%.

From 2017-2026, the lowest-priced annual pass increased in cost by $260, a 76.7% increase, and the highest-priced annual pass increased in cost by $850, an 81.03% increase.

Disneyland has made some changes to the structure of its annual pass program over the years, but the various tiers have remained fairly comparable to the options that exist today (save for the former Premier Pass type, which offered access to Disneyland and Walt Disney World).

Note that the highest-tier Inspire Pass has blockout dates during the peak holiday weeks in December, whereas the former highest-tier Signature Plus pass did not. Magic Key holders are now required to make park reservations for their visit, and there have been some additional seasonal perks added in recent years.

This chart looks back at historical annual pass prices from 2017-2026. The lowest-tier pass, formerly called the SoCal Select, was $339 in 2017 and is now $599 in 2026 as the current Imagine Key. Pricing did not increase for this pass type between 2024 and 2026.
