Pop culture shapes our interiors. From the rise of hot pink appliances with the release of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie to groups of people who watch Nancy Meyers films just for the design, the look of our homes is deeply shaped by the media we consume. It only makes sense then that one of the most anticipated releases of the year, Wicked: For Good, is set to dominate design in 2026.
For those who hope to be ahead of interior design trends, Cynthia Erivo is offering fans the opportunity to step inside the set. She has teamed up with Airbnb on an Experience that provides the chance to win a stay at Elphaba’s Retreat. The immersive recreation, based outside of Los Angeles, includes a fireside tea with Cynthia, a multi-sensory sing-along, and a creative workshop to build a witch’s broom. Guests can request to book the experience or overnight stay beginning November 11th at 3pm GMT until November 13th at 3pm GMT

Though it’s unlikely we’re all going to start living in woodland huts made of sticks, taking inspiration from the Wicked: For Good sets is more about looking for the elements that resonate with our personal interior design styles, and feel easy to recreate.

Claudia Kampmann, Europe Brand Manager at Ruggable explains: ‘Searches for the long-awaited sequel ‘Wicked For Good’ have spiked by 212% over the last month. With the film just weeks away, many will be looking to the wonderful world of Oz for inspiration for their interiors and style choices. From the floral tapestries in Glinda and Elphaba’s dorm to the striking, vibrant walls of the Emerald City palace, the on-screen world of Oz offers abundant inspiration for our homes.’

Recreate Elphaba’s Look At Home
Plush and elegant, this green velvet loveseat is an excellent addition to any neutral living space. It would look fantastic with metallic picture frames on the wall behind it.
Washed Organic Throw Pillow Cover
This gorgeous green velvet throw pillow cover is just what you need to add a touch of rich earthiness to your living room this season. Changing pillow covers is one of the oldest tricks in the book to introduce color (in this case, green) in an instant.
Introducing green to your floor is just as easy with this lush floral rug. Designed by Iris Apfel, it’s another way to bring a designer-approved sense of style to either a dressing room, living space or entryway (to create the ultimate first impression).

As Elphaba’s retreat demonstrates, the primary inspiration from this space is embracing whimsical interiors without hesitation.

Claudia tells Homes & Gardens: ‘The introduction of whimsical films like Wicked has influenced design enthusiasts to be playful and experimental with their decor choices. Elaborate patterns and bold colours can add an element of theatre and magic through the blend of simultaneous vintage and modern accents.’

Another inspiring aspect of Elphaba’s interiors is the integration of natural materials. The use of green and unvarnished wood has grown increasingly popular over the last few years and the Wicked film is sure to amplify these looks. The use of dried flowers throughout the home is especially striking, creating pops of brightness among the wood.

Elphaba’s retreat is a beautiful example of how stunning interiors can enhance both a film and our own homes.
