CNN has issued a sharp rebuke regarding Donald Trump’s recent remarks, which are certain to irritate the president.
The network responded forcefully after Trump asserted that “the violence is mostly from the left” following conservative commentator Charlie Kirk’s death.
CNN fired back during a live broadcast, condemning Trump for promoting a “false narrative” that lacks data support.
One anchor declared: “Some of the other administration officials sort of tone it down, and they did have a more unifying message than what we heard in the days right after Kirk’s killing.
“But once again, you hear the President of the United States, he said the violence is mostly from the left. That is not supported by the data, we should note. And sadly, we see political violence across the spectrum. But once again, using that device of rhetoric.”
Following the controversial clip’s circulation on social media, numerous supportive comments for Trump emerged, with some arguing that the “best way to combat misinformation” that the president has been accused of spreading was not to reshare excerpts from the news network.
One user commented, “We have our own system of news and network, and never have anything to do with any of these lying, corrupt communist networks again, that’s how you fix it.”
Another person stated, “CNN is not a News station. It is a gossip, slandering trash magazine, disguised as news.”
In a recent development, Trump lashed out at a CNN reporter during a live broadcast when asked about his potential involvement in “another foreign war”, to which he retorted, “Oh, well, it’s fake news that fortunately nobody watches.”

The reporter attempted to pose another question, but Trump cut her off, asking: “Does anybody even watch CNN nowadays? I haven’t seen it in a long time.”
Despite the reporter’s efforts to continue the interview, the 79 year old leader kept berating her and the news channel, questioning: “Do you ever ask a positive question at CNN?”
Trump went on to say, “My supporters are more in love with me today, and I’m in love with them. More than they were even at election time, when we had a landslide. We won all seven swing states. Did CNN report that? We won by millions of votes.”
In the past, the president has branded news networks CNN and MSNBC as “scum” and repeatedly accused them of reporting “fake news” about him.
