The City of Fallon has partnered with Renown Health and the National Fitness Campaign to bring an outdoor Fitness Court Studio and digital wellness programming to Laura Mills Park.
Mayor Ken Tedford and partners will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the new Fitness Court Studio at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23. Residents are encouraged to attend the launch and test out the new court.
“We’re proud to bring this new health and wellness option to our residents,” said Ken Tedford, Mayor of Fallon. “This is just one of many steps we are taking to deliver improved amenities in our parks and community spaces to give residents options to be active year-round.”
Developed through a collaboration between the City of Fallon, Renown Health, and the National Fitness Campaign, the Fitness Court Studio is designed to provide free access to high-quality workouts for people of all abilities.
The outdoor gym allows users to leverage their body weight through seven exercise stations focused on a full-body workout.
Created for people ages 14 and older, the Fitness Court Studio offers workouts adaptable to all fitness levels, allowing participants to move at their own pace.
People can also download the free Fitness Court App, which provides guided workouts and transforms the outdoor gym into a digital wellness experience.
The City of Fallon is among the first ten campaign partners working with Renown Health to build a network of Fitness Courts across Nevada.
“Proximity to exercise opportunities, such as parks and recreation facilities, has been linked to an increase in physical activity among residents,” said Suzanne Hendery, MA, APR, CPXP, Chief Marketing & Customer Experience Officer at Renown Health. “Regular physical activity has a wide array of health benefits, including weight control, muscle and bone strengthening, improved mental health and mood, and improved life expectancy. We are proud to bring additional access to exercise opportunities – at no charge, to everyone in our community.”
“We are excited to have the City of Fallon join us in the journey to improve health and wellness as we work to make a powerful and long-lasting impact on health outcomes and happiness by building healthy communities across America,” said Mitch Menaged, founder of National Fitness Campaign. “The addition of the outdoor Fitness Court Studio, along with digital wellness programming, demonstrates a tremendous commitment to the health and well-being within the community.”
