A California Highway Patrol officer rescued an injured cat from I-80 traffic Thursday morning.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A quick-thinking California Highway Patrol officer rescued an injured cat stranded in traffic on I-80 Thursday morning, according to a CHP Facebook post.
Officer Frisby received a report of a black cat in the center divider on westbound I-80 near Marysville Boulevard.
Responding with caution, Frisby safely removed the cat from the roadway, preventing potential harm.
The injured cat was taken to the North Sacramento CHP office, where Animal Control was called to provide medical care and transport.
CHP praised Officer Frisby for the rescue, noting that even small animal-related calls are important for keeping the community safe.
