The Game Awards returns on December 11, and in addition to many expected announcements, new trailers, performances, and other news, the Geoff Keighley-hosted event is, well, and awards show.
The event will hand out awards to some of the best and most celebrated games of 2025. The coveted Game of the Year award is the biggest award of the night, and this year, the GOTY nominees are Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Donkey Kong Bananza, Hades II, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
Expedition 33 led all others this year with 12 total nominations, including its nod for Game of the Year. With 12 nominations, that makes it the most-nominated game in the history of The Game Awards.
Death Stranding 2 and Ghost of Yotei followed with eight nominations each, with Hades 2 picking up six, Hollow Knight grabbing five, and Split Fiction nabbing four.
