BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Several daytime and overnight closures are happening this week and next week due to work on the Highway 58/Highway 99 interchange project, said the City of Bakersfield.
Overnight closure on northbound 99 (Thursday, June 11):
Northbound 99 will be fully closed on June 11 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. near Ming Avenue, as crews perform concrete work on a separator bridge.
Drivers will be detoured to exit Ming Avenue, right (west) on Ming Avenue, right (north) on Wible Road, and continue north along Wible Road/Oak Street to California Avenue. Then, they will turn left (west) on California Avenue before entering the northbound 99 on ramp.
Overnight closure on southbound 99 (Monday, June 15):
A daytime closure for southbound Highway 99 is set on June 15 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. near Highway 58. Crews will pour concrete and work on a separator bridge.
A detour will be set up on eastbound Highway 58 to Stockdale Highway. Drivers will head east on Stockdale Highway, turn right (south) on Wible Road, turn right (west) onto Ming Avenue, and will enter southbound Highway 99 on the left.
