IMG Academy

BRADENTON, Fla. (Nov.13, 2025)IMG Academy, the world’s leading sports education brand, today announced the launch of its 12th sport program, Swimming, and the development of a new state-of-the-art Aquatic Center. The investment marks one of the largest in IMG Academy’s history and represents the next phase in IMG Academy’s long-term vision to make a positive impact on any student-athlete who believes in sport as a platform for life. The launch of Swimming will be IMG Academy’s third new sport announced in 2025, following Wrestling and Boys Volleyball.

The 9,345-square-foot Aquatic Center will not only be the home of IMG Academy Swimming but also become a premier top-tier training destination. The design will offer flexibility for training and competitions and provide an Olympic-caliber training experience. It includes 10 lanes measuring a total of 54 by 25 meters, larger than an Olympic-size pool.

The Swimming program will develop elite swimmers through world-class coaching, cutting-edge facilities, and year-round training opportunities. The Aquatic Center also enables IMG Academy to host top-level meets, camps, and community programs, providing student-athletes with access to premier resources while positioning IMG Academy as the world leader in sports education.

“This expansion represents a one-of-one opportunity to enhance our unrivaled student-athlete experience only found at IMG Academy,” said Mike Milliron, Chief Operating Officer, IMG Academy Campus. “The addition of our Aquatic Center and swimming program not only addresses the growing demand for aquatic sports but also strengthens our commitment to developing the next generation of leaders. This investment reinforces our purpose of empowering student-athletes to win their future through unmatched training, education, and personal growth opportunities.”

IMG Academy will break ground on the Aquatic Center on Nov. 20, with construction beginning on Dec.1. While the Olympic-caliber Aquatic Center is expected to open in March 2027, IMG Academy is actively searching for a leader with extensive experience and prominence in the swimming community. The Director of Swimming will help guide the development of the facility from the ground up while ensuring that future student-athletes have the resources, guidance, and opportunities to succeed both in and out of the pool.

“Breaking ground on the Aquatic Center will be a major milestone for IMG Academy,” said Brian Nash, Vice President of Athletics. “Our focus is on fostering the growth of every student-athlete, athletically, academically, and personally. By expanding programs in Wrestling, Volleyball, Softball, and now Swimming, we are creating more opportunities for student-athletes to develop their skills, push their limits, and reach their fullest potential. With world-class coaching, facilities, and support, we are committed to helping each student-athlete grow into the best version of themselves.”
