A high-speed ferry that provides service between Hyannis and Nantucket is out of service after a crack in the vessel’s shell was found, the Steamship Authority said Tuesday.A small crack was found in the aluminum shell of the M/V Iyanough, and it will be out of service until it is repaired.”The crack is above the water line, but for safety reasons the vessel cannot run until repairs are completed. At this time, we do not have an estimated return date for the vessel,” the Steamship Authority said.Eight trips between the Cape and Nantucket have been canceled for Wednesday.The Steamship urged passengers to continue to check its website for updates.In 2017, several people were injured when the M/V Iyanough struck a jetty in Hyannis Harbor while traveling from Nantucket in bad weather.
