Dharmendra Health Update: Veteran actor Dharmendra was discharged from Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital this morning. The actor was admitted to the hospital on October 31 after he complained about feeling breathless. However, later, Dharmendra’s team confirmed that the actor had been taken to the hospital for a routine check-up.
The 89-year-old has been in and out of the hospital for weeks. “Dharmendra ji was discharged from the hospital around 7.30 am. He will be treated at home as the family has decided to give him treatment at home,” Dr Pratit Samdani told. Now, in an official statement, the Deol family has said that the Sholay actor will recover at home. They also urged everyone to refrain from any other speculations.
The official statement released by the family said, “Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time. We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you.”
For a few days, several reports about the veteran actor’s health have been circulating online. On Monday, it was reported that Dharmendra was critical and put on a ventilator; however, the actor’s family denied the reports. On Tuesday, after a few reports about the actor’s demise surfaced online, his wife Hema Malini shut down the rumors with a strong statement on X. She wrote, “What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy.” Dharmanedra’s daughter Esha Deol also wrote on Instagram, “The media seems to be in overdrive and spreading false news. My father is stable and recovering. We request that everyone give our family privacy. Thank you for the prayers for Papa’s speedy recovery.”
As per the latest update from sources close to Sunny Deol, Dharamendra was responding to the treatment better yesterday. Many celebrities like Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan, Govinda, and Ameesha Patel also paid a visit to the Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani actor in the hospital.
