SAN JOSE, Calif. – San José State football (3–6, 2–3 Mountain West) heads to Nevada (1-8, 0-5 MW) this Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Catch all the action on CBS Sports Network and KTRB 860 AM.
- The Spartans look for their third straight win over Nevada and first win in Reno since 2000.
- In his last seven games, Walker Eget has gone 172-for-277 (62%) for 2,449 yards (349.9 passing yards per game), 15 touchdowns and a QB rating of 154.23.
- Eget leads the nation with 326.8 passing yards per game and 2,941 total passing yards, plus is second in the Mountain West with 17 touchdown passes. His total offense, averaging 333.6 yards per game, is second in the country and first in the MW.
- Eget went 275 passing attempts (09-06 to 11-08) without an interception, which is the third-longest in Mountain West history.
- The Spartans are averaging 6.6 yards per play this season and 7.2 yards per play in their last seven games.
- In the Spartans’ three wins, SJSU has averaged 174.3 rushing yards and 335.7 passing yards and a +4 turnover margin.
- In the Spartans’ six losses, SJSU has a -8 turnover margin.
- The Spartans have only allowed eight sacks on the season, the fewest in the Mountain West and eighth-fewest in the country.
- SJSU is the only school in the country to have three receivers with 100 or more yards each in the same game twice this season. The last team to achieve this feat three times in a season was Hawai‘i in 2007, which accomplished it four times.
- Danny Scudero, a San Jose native, leads the country in receiving yards (1,126), receiving yards per game (125.1) and is second in the country with 10 receiving touchdowns (four 50 yards or more, six 40 yards or more). He is also fifth in the country and first in the MW, with 68 receptions, while averaging 7.56 receptions per game, which is fourth in the nation.
- Scudero has gone over 100 receiving yards in six out of nine games at SJSU, and his 215 receiving yards vs. Hawai‘i (11/01), 189 receiving yards against CMU (8/29) and 180 receiving yards at Wyoming (10/11) are the fifth, 11th and 17th most single-game receiving yards in the NCAA this season.
- According to Stats Perform, Scudero has six receiving touchdowns over 40 yards this season and is one behind Jalen Royals of Utah State, who had seven in 2023 for the most in the Mountain West since 1996.
- Scudero tied the SJSU record with four-straight 100-yard receiving games (9/20-10/11).
- Scudero (1,126 yards) is the fastest to break 1,000 receiving yards in SJSU history and did so against Hawai‘i (11/01).
- Scudero is one of two FBS receivers (Skyler Bell, UConn) over 1,000 receiving yards this season.
- True freshman Steve Chavez-Soto had three rushing touchdowns against Hawai‘i (11/01) to earn Old Trapper Mountain West Freshman of the Week honors. Chavez-Soto has 300 rushing yards, seven touchdowns and is averaging 5.4 yards a carry in only five games.
- Chavez-Soto is fifth in the country with his seven rushing touchdowns among freshman running backs.
