Get more for your holiday shopping! From Nov 1–Feb 15, 2026, Shop 916 gift cards offer bonus value while supporting over 120 local Sacramento businesses.
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Sacramento residents can now support local businesses while treating friends, family or themselves this holiday season with the relaunch of the Shop 916 git card program.
Running from November 1 through February 16, 2026, the program offers bonus spending when purchasing Shop 916 gift cards.
“With over 120 Sacramento businesses part of the program, the Shop 916 gift card is all you need to make loved ones smile while helping our local economy thrive,” said Valerie Mamone, the City’s project development manager responsible for the program. “We are excited to be able to host this program again to promote local shopping and gift giving and welcome more local businesses to join this great effort.”

Bonus cards will expire on March 31, 2026, and they can be purchased online here. People can also view the participating stores on the same website.
Since the program launched in 2021, over $1.1 million in Shop 916 gift and bonus cards have been sold.
This year, the program has been enhanced with Google and Apple Wallet integration through the Yiftee platform, allowing cardholders to tap-to-pay directly with their digital cards for a more convenient shopping experience.
For larger groups, Shop 916 offers a volume discount program on purchases of $1,000 or more, making it ideal for employee rewards or holiday incentives.
These bulk purchases have waived card fees, but the current bonus promotion does not apply to them.
The program is free to local storefront retailers in Sacramento. Eligible businesses must have 500 or fewer full-time equivalent employees and cannot be home-based, franchises, liquor-only stores, or cannabis businesses.
Businesses interested in joining can sign up here.
The Shop 916 gift card program is designed to boost the local economy while making holiday gift-giving simple and rewarding.
