Fall gatherings are occurring, and the merry season is on the horizon. In the coming weeks, shoppers will begin searching for the perfect Christmas trees, checking their lists twice, and planning holiday potlucks with friends and family. It really is the best time of the year.
The holiday season signals entertaining. Hosting and gatherings will be at their height this time of year. While most enjoy hosting during the holidays in the South, what we don’t always love is hosting an event or get-together and not having the entertaining essentials on hand that we need. As much as we can prepare ahead of time, thankfully, there are some stores that we can always rely on for last-minute entertaining needs. Dollar Tree is one of those stores, stocked with party, decorating, and entertaining items. If you’ve ever shopped at the store, then you know it’s economical and convenient.
While Dollar Tree is known for a wide range of items—even Southern Living Editors have favorite items—it’s one of my favorite stores for home essentials, including gift wrap items, paper party goods, cleaning and air freshener items, and so much more. For the holidays, it’s a one-stop shop for wrapping paper, holiday gift bags, tissue paper, bows, tape, and cards. When entertaining and hosting at home, though, there is one item in particular that I can always count on Dollar Tree to have on hand and ready to go just when I need it for a party or event.
The Entertaining Essential I Always Buy At Dollar Tree
There’s one item that I’ve purchased at Dollar Tree when I needed a quick, simple floral arrangement for a tablescape. While flower arrangements signal an elevated dining or entertaining experience, ordering from a florist repeatedly can be expensive. Thankfully, Dollar Tree has a vast collection of glass, acrylic, and other containers for floral arrangements, and the price points are spot-on for value.

Where To Find Vases At Dollar Tree
The glass vase and votive container section is located in one of two sections in most Dollar Trees. While I’ve found the vases on the floral aisle near faux flowers and green floral foam, I’ve also spotted them in the kitchen wares aisle near mugs, drinking glasses, and other glassware.
Why Shop Dollar Tree For Vases
Their stock is vast. If you’re in need of several centerpieces for a large event—I once needed 20 vases for a large dining event I was helping host—Dollar Tree is always amply stocked with a variety of large and small vase options. Most vases at Dollar Tree start at $1.25, and others cap at $3, so it’s simple. The glass vases are simply more economical. If one breaks, then it’s quick math and easy to replace. For the holidays, grab a small bunch of fresh-cut flowers, arrange them in a glass vase, or visit Dollar Tree’s floral section for faux options.
A Few Tips For Dollar Tree Vases
While Dollar Tree’s vases are economical and convenient, they’re made of glass, and we all know accidents happen. With that in mind, it might be a good idea to purchase a few extras or take note of how many your local Dollar Tree has in stock, but that’s also the beauty of it, too. If a vase happens to break, chances are your Dollar Tree is just down the street, and it’s easy to replace a vase at $1.25 quickly.
One last tip: remember that the smaller the vase, the easier it will be (and less costly) to fill it with flowers. Additionally, no one enjoys talking over a massive flower centerpiece at the dining room table. Shorter vases make quality conversion easier across the dining table, so in this case, it’s better to go short and small rather than tall when arranging flowers for a centerpiece.
