Bhopal: Mobile-snatching incidents by bike-borne miscreants continue unabated in the Piplani area, with two engineering students falling victim on Wednesday night. The accused, riding a black motorcycle, snatched mobile phones worth over Rs 1 lakh in total and fled. Piplani police said the complainant Tanishq Garg, 18, an engineering student residing in Hostel No. 3, BHEL, was returning to his hostel on foot around 9:30 pm on Nov 5 after visiting an electronics showroom in Indrapuri. While he was talking on his mobile phone, two men on a motorcycle approached him, snatched his phone worth Rs 85,000 from his hand, and sped away.Notably, about an hour and a half before this incident, the same gang reportedly targeted another student — Parikshit Singh, 19, who lives in Piplani. His phone, worth Rs 20,000, was similarly snatched by bike-borne miscreants. Piplani has seen more than dozen such cases in the last few months.
